Abstract

Model asuransi bersama joint life adalah model lanjutan dari model asuransi
tunggal dimana model ini dikembangkan dari konsep kelangsungan hidup kelompok dan
probabilitas kelangsungan hidup diasumsikan saling bebas (independent). Penerapan
model asuransi bersama joint life, biasanya digunakan pada asuransi jiwa. Asuransi
bersama adalah asuransi yang melibatkan beberapa peserta asuransi yang bergabung
dalam satu kontrak asuransi. Fungsi hidup bersama, didefinisikan pada asumsi bahwa
asuransi berakhir keberadaannya saat kematian pertama terjadi. Berdasarkan jangka
waktu perlindungannya, asuransi bersama dibagi menjadi tiga jenis, yaitu status hidup
gabungan untuk asuransi bersama seumur hidup, status hidup gabungan untuk asuransi
bersama berjangka, dan status hidup gabungan untuk asuransi bersama dwiguna murni.
Jumlah pembayaran premi untuk asuransi jiwa bersama bergantung pada jenis program
asuransi yang telah diambil dan besarnya santunan yang diterima oleh tertanggung. Pembayaran premi asuransi bersama untuk suatu besarnya santunan ditentukan oleh jenis
asuransi apa yang diikuti oleh tertanggung, baik asuransi bersama seumur hidup, asuransi bersama berjangka ataupun asuransi bersama dwiguna murni. Pembayaran premi
untuk asuransi bersama lebih murah dibandingkan dengan asuransi perorangan untuk
jumlah santunan yang sama. Ini dikarenakan pembayaran premi untuk polis asuransi
bersama dibayarkan oleh beberapa peserta asuransi.
