Penerapan Diagram Kendali D2 (Mahalanobis Distance) dalam Menganalisis Kualitas Produksi Percetakan Koran (Studi Kasus: Unit Percetakan PT. Padang Graindo Mediatama)

Abstract

Kualitas merupakan hal terpenting untuk menarik konsumen dalam menggunakan produk, sehingga perusahaan perlu mengendalikan kualitas produk yang dihasilkan. PT. Padang Graindo Mediatama merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang percetakan, salah satunya mencetak koran Pos Metro Padang. Meskipun telah melakukan perbaikan kualitas, namun masih saja terdapat produk cacat yang tidak sesuai dengan karakteristik kualitas. Untuk menjaga, memperbaiki, dan memonitor kualitas digunakan diagram kendali. Diagram kendali D2 (Mahalanobis Distance) adalah diagram kendali yang menggunakan karakteristik kualitas multivariat atribut. Atribut yang dipakai dalam pencetakan koran adalah Tidak Register (X1), Terpotong (X2), Warna Kabur (X3), dan Kotor (X4). Dengan menerapkan diagram kendali D2 diperoleh bahwa proses pencetakan Pos Metro Padang pada bulan Januari 2015 belum terkendali. Hal ini dikarenakan masih terdapat enam dari 31 pengamatan yang berada di luar batas kendali dan ketidakterkendalian ini terutama disebabkan oleh warna kabur.
